What do you think snowmen do at night?
We read a great book about them and then thought of our own ideas.
Ask your child what s/he painted!

Have you ever read Bartholomew and the Oobleck by Dr. Seuss?
We had lots of fun playing with oobleck.  The question is:  Is it a solid or a liquid?  We found out during this science exploration that it is both!

There's a whole lot of reading going on!

Push Pin Trick Words!

Picture
We work both our memories and our hand strength doing push pin activities. You can do this at home too!  You need: a rug (or mouse pad), a push pin thumb tack, a piece of construction paper and a cover sheet with word study words on it.  Trace the words by making little holes with the pin as shown here.  When it is done, hold the colored piece of paper up to a window or light to read what you made!

What is this picture all about?  Ask your child!

Everyday in room 18, we are learning and internalizing sight words.  We have found a few fun ways to do this like Tag Tuesday and Walking Wednesday.

Many of the pictures above were taken on Tag Tuesdays this month.  You can see the tags around our necks.  We take time throughout the day to read our tags to others and have others read our tags.

Wednesdays are a whole different day!  Ask your child what we do with these sight word circles on Walking Wednesdays!
