Number Scrolls
Do you know what a number scroll is? It is a math tool that each child has created to help him or her learn about place value and practice writing larger numbers. Ask your child what number s/he is up to on his or her scroll!

Valentine's Day
Mailing cards, celebrating friendship and creative projects!
Special thanks to our room mothers, Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Lane, as well as all the parents who volunteered their time and energy to make our Valentine's Day celebration a big success from all of us in room 18!
The picture to the left shows the flurry of activity in our room as students mailed their Valentine cards. They were so excited!
Weather Or Not!
A scientist came to Room 18 to help us with our weather study.
We learned about air, wind, clouds, storms and more!
Learning About The Weather From Batch 3rd Graders
The third graders at the Batchelder School are also learning about weather. Ms. Jackson's 3rd graders came down to room 18 to show us weather tools that they created during science time. They made a barometer, thermometer and anemometer. In class, the 3rd graders wrote lessons, then taught them to us and even took us outside to show us how their tools worked.
